Williams College Integrative Wellbeing Services (IWS) provides a full range of psychological and psychiatric treatment services for enrolled students. The department currently seeks a full time Staff Psychiatrist or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide clinical services during the 10-month academic year (August 15-June 15). The position is salaried with full benefits, and we are looking for someone to start as soon as possible. Annual compensation will be around $200,000 for a Psychiatrist; for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, compensation will be between $100,000 to $125,000, commensurate with experience.

In addition to providing college-aged students with confidential mental health services, IWS embraces a holistic model of student well-being (heart, mind, body and spirit) and collaborates with Health Services, the Chaplain’s Office, the Davis Center multicultural programming, Dean’s Office academic leadership and others to support the whole student.

The position is physically housed with the IWS team in the Pond House for Wellbeing on campus, across the street from the Williams College Health Center - with medical support by nursing and laboratory services. All scheduling is done by IWS administrative personnel and no billing is required.


Responsibilities
  • Psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses and psychiatric treatment;
  • Full range of prescriber functions and medication management;
  • Clinical Consultation with IWS therapists and administration;
  • Clinical consultation to Medical Services Providers managing psychiatric issues for students;
  • Participation in weekly IWS case staffing meetings;
  • Participation in Medical Services Provider meeting as requested by Director of Health Services;
  • Participation in Eating Disorder Treatment team meeting as requested by Director of Health Services;
  • Participation in monthly IWS Team Racial Justice Initiative
  • Periodic meetings with IWS leadership team;
  • Periodic Presentations to IWS Trainee Cohort on psychopharmacologic issues;
  • Some infrequent after hours emergencies / on-call support


Qualifications
  • Experience providing psychiatric assessment and treatment to the 18-24 year old population
  • Experience providing treatment with a student population that is broadly diverse in terms of race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, and religion
  • MD or NP with current licensure to practice and prescribe in MA
  • Experience working with Electronic Medical Records System preferred
Hours:
  • 40 hour per week - Monday through Friday (specific hours to be arranged)
  • 85% direct clinical practice / 15% case consultation, collaboration, administration and teaching
