The College seeks a full-time Clery Compliance Manager and Investigator. The Clery Compliance Manager will support the associate director by providing leadership to ensure the institution’s compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act or Clery Act. The Clery Compliance Manager will be directly responsible for managing the department’s role in the Clery Compliance program (for the Williams College Campus, Oxford, and Mystic River Campus) and leading investigations conducted by CSS to maintain a safe and secure learning and work environment that is supportive of the educational goals of Williams College. The Clery Compliance Manager will be required to work with the campus community to establish and develop a robust Clery Compliance program in an effort to ensure compliance with the clery act. The Clery Compliance Manager must also be a servant leader with passion for trauma informed investigations and be able to develop relationships with external Williams College community members (Williamstown Police/Fire, Berkshire County Sheriff’s Office, Northern Berkshire Emergency Services) as well as the internal Williams College Community members (students, faculty, staff and alumni).

Additional responsibilities include preparing, publishing and distributing the annual security report (ASR). Chairing the Clery Compliance Committee, supervising department investigations, and serving as a department instructor for topics such as: investigations, report writing, and Clery compliance. This position will assist the Assistant Director with coordinating the Emergency Preparedness program and serve as the department Property/Evidence custodian. This complex role also requires maintaining strong collegial relations with all campus constituencies as well as with local officials and law enforcement, fire and emergency medical service providers.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a public safety or security-related role is required, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience conducting trauma-informed investigations is essential
  • Ability to investigate administrative and student conduct incidents/violations with the greatest degree of tact, judgment, technical knowledge, and sensitivity.
  • Familiarity and interest in working with college-age students is strongly preferred as is a commitment to the principles of diversity and inclusion.
  • Computer expertise, oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively and positively with others are essential.
  • Valid driver's license required at the time of application.
