Portland Community College’s Healthcare and Emergency Professions Academic and Career Pathway seeks two (2) Instructional Administrative Assistants II (IAA 2). One position will be based at the Cascade campus and the other will be based at the Sylvania campus.

The HEP Pathway welcomes students from diverse backgrounds and abilities to study and develop their skills in career-technical education and college transfer programs, as well as non-credit health profession programs. The IAA 2 works with faculty, administrative staff, casual staff, student workers and leadership to enhance the student learning experience across the college. They liaise with a variety of stakeholders to perform a full range of administrative support duties including purchasing, course schedule entry, and report creation. IAA 2s work well both independently and as part of a team, responding to a variety of situations. Successful IAA 2s have the ability to work independently and within a team, make sound decisions and seek out assistance from other college staff. Remote work and the use of technology to perform duties off site may be needed.

Administrative competence is important. But even more important is an enthusiasm for learning and personal growth, a joy in collaborating, and a desire to encourage and foster growth in others.

Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrated capacity for high quality, timely communication via email, phone and other communication methods
  • Experience carrying out complex tasks accurately with attention to detail while working independently with demonstrated ability to identify and prioritize multiple tasks with competing deadlines
  • Demonstrated team player with ability to maintain a positive attitude, willingness to learn new technologies as appropriate, and flexibility while working with frequent interruptions
  • Experience with Banner or similar data management systems as well as Google Applications (email, calendar, Docs, Sheets, Drive, Forms, etc).
Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).
  • High school diploma or equivalent
AND
  • Three (3) years of administrative support experience
OR
  • One (1) year in a position equivalent to Instructional Administrative Assistant I
NOTE: College or business school training may be substituted for up to two years of the administrative experience requirement.

Position Grade 17 Starting Salary Expectations The first two steps of the range are: $41,052 to $42,284 per year. Higher salary placement may be available based on qualifications, experience and internal equity. Position Grade Salary Range $41052 to $65880 Annual Salary FTE 1 PCC Benefits

Paid Leave: (Pro-rated by FTE for Part-Time Employees)
  • Starts at 8 hours of vacation leave per month (additional vacation hours with years of service)

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Work is generally performed in an office environment with frequent interruptions or changes in work flow. Occasional lifting, guiding, or carrying of light-weight materials or equipment may be required. Position involves sitting for extended periods of time while working at a computer terminal. Learned physical skill is required to perform keyboarding and/or ten-key functions. Background Check Required Yes
