Summary of Job Duties:Responsible for establishing working relationships with childcare facilities to promote and conduct training to preschool and early childhood educators. The trainer helps childcare facilities meet their professional development training requirements. Trainers are hired on an as-needed basis and may conduct workshops within the state of Arkansas. Trainings are funded through grants awarded by the Arkansas Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education. The position reports to the Director of Early Childhood Preschool Program.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood, child development or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of successful teaching or counseling or social work experience.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in Birth-Five classroom.
  • Must be registered in the Professional Development Registry ( PDR ) meeting all criteria required by the Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct training at UAFS or on-site at childcare facilities within the state of Arkansas, to include the following subjects: CDA (non-credit or credit); In-Practice Adventures in Learning; In-Practice Adventures for Toddlers; In-Practice Connecting with Infants; In-Practice BAMMM ; In-Practice CLAM ; In-Practice CAL; In-Practice Informational Books in the Preschool; In-Practice Story A Month; Learning Environment Kit; Families Kit; Outdoor Environment Kit; Professionalism Kit; Children & Times of Transition Kit; A Supportive & Caring Community of Learners Kit; Program for Children Kit and all contracted trainings from UA ECEP . Other courses may be added, upon release from the Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education ( DCCECE ).
  • Ensure the application of technology to curriculum and instruction in the teaching and learning process.
  • Maintain positive collaboration with local child development centers.
  • Participate in training and provide instruction in the Professional Development Registry program.
  • Participate in appropriate state, regional, and national professional organizations.
  • Required to attend training for each course taught, through workshops provided by the DCCECE to ensure that the dissemination of curriculum is consistent throughout the state.
  • Recruit future early childhood trainers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Additional Information:

Work performed primarily in an office/classroom setting. Travel will be required to receive training. Must travel to and from sites to conduct training. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly exhibits digital dexterity when entering data into computer. Required abilities include walking, standing, bending, reaching turning, listening, observation, and moderate to heavy lifting of up to 30 pounds. Must be physically and emotionally able to complete all job requirements.

Salary Information:

$45/hour
