The Program: The Teacher Education Program (TEP) at Carroll University develops professional educators who use their knowledge, skills, and dispositions to serve diverse communities of learners. Our program fosters in candidates a commitment to the understanding that all children, adolescents, and adults can learn, and we further encourage our candidates to dedicate themselves to be advocates for learning. Using developmentally appropriate and educationally effective approaches and guided by state and national standards, our candidates create environments that prepare learners to contribute to a democratic and equitable society in an increasingly interdependent and global world.



The Department: The Department of Education in the School of Education and Human Services includes majors in Elementary Education, Secondary Education, and Educational Studies, and minor in Educational Studies.

The College: The College of Arts and Sciences offers undergraduate and graduate programs through seven departments - Communication and Sociology; Computational and Physical Sciences; Education; English, Modern Languages and Philosophy; History, Political Sciences and Religious Studies; Life Sciences; and Visual and Performing Arts.

Carroll University: Founded in 1846, Carroll University is an independent, co-educational comprehensive university grounded in the liberal arts tradition. The Pioneer Core general education curriculum has a strong emphasis on developing intercultural awareness, including cross-cultural immersion experiences. Carroll University is located in suburban Waukesha, 16 miles west of Milwaukee and 60 miles east of Madison. The University serves approximately 3521 students.
