The MYRTLE WOLDSON PERFORMING ARTS CENTER is currently seeking a Program Assistant II for its new facility on the campus of Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington.  This facility houses a 755-seat proscenium space and a 168-seat flexible recital hall.  One of seven full-time staff members for the facility, this position will serve customer service, administrative, and budgeting needs for academic/presenting/rental events in theatre, dance, and music. 

Job purpose:  The position develops and maintains strong professional relationships and works collaboratively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Performs moderately complex administrative and budgetary duties in support of staff, faculty, students and visitors. May greet visitors and provide first point of contact, creating an inclusive and welcoming experience.​

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum one (1) year experience in office support with budget, bookkeeping or accounting responsibilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate job-related processes to internal and external customers
  • Ability to effectively interact and collaborate with team members, clients, university departments and personnel
  • Experience assisting with events of all types, sizes and complexity for a diverse clientele
  • Proficiency with scheduling software
  • Microsoft Word skills to include the ability to create reports, containing graphs and other intermediate functions (e.g. perform mail merge, insert table of contents)
  • Microsoft Excel skills to include the ability to create spreadsheets (e.g. formulas, filters, graphs) 
  • Maintain composure in fast paced work environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities with frequent interruptions
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work to maximize productivity and respond effectively to change
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with a high level of confidently and discretion
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately input data into various systems
  • Demonstrated interest in the performing arts community

Desired Qualifications: 

 

  • Preferred 3yrs progressive office experience. 
  • Working knowledge of computerized ticketing systems​
  • Event management experience or performing arts theatre management experience in a higher education setting
