Job Summary:

The Department of Human Oncology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking applicants for the Bentson and Wolfe Fellowships (translational cancer research training) in Radiation Oncology to commence in the summer of 2022.

The UW School of Medicine and Public Health has a deep and profound commitment to diversity both as an end in itself but also as a valuable means for eliminating health disparities. As such, we strongly encourage applications from candidates who foster and promote the values of diversity and inclusion.

The Department of Human Oncology (DHO) is an interdisciplinary department within the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health with missions of clinical service, research and education. The DHO fosters excellence in state-of-the-art cancer treatment, teaching as well as basic, translational and clinical research.

The fellowship will emphasize Radiation Oncology translational laboratory research at the level of 80-90% commitment. In addition, Bentson and Wolfe fellows will have 10-20% clinical activities with opportunities to design and execute clinical trials that relate to new radiation oncology technologies and biologics.

Candidates will have a strong interest in academic medicine and demonstrate a commitment to translational cancer research in radiation oncology. Candidates with particular talent and productivity in writing original material (research manuscripts and protocols) are encouraged to apply. Opportunities for translational research in the DHO are very strong, and extend to collaboration with other Departments across the UW School of Medicine and Public Health.

Bentson and Wolfe Fellows will be appointed as Clinical Instructors in the Department of Human Oncology within the UW School of Medicine and Public Health.
