Position Description 


The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science in the McAnulty College and Graduate School of Liberal Arts at Duquesne University invites applications for a tenure-track position in mathematics, beginning in fall 2022 at the rank of assistant professor. The faculty hire will join four tenured mathematics faculty and 15 other full-time departmental faculty. The department offers undergraduate majors in mathematics, computer science, applied mathematics, data science, and cybersecurity, as well as a multidisciplinary Master's program in computational mathematics and statistics.    Qualifications    A Ph.D. in the field of mathematics or applied mathematics is expected by the time of appointment. Tenure-track faculty members are expected to perform well both in the classroom and as researchers. Strong candidates will be able to broadly contribute to undergraduate education through research projects and curriculum design.    As a condition of employment, Duquesne University requires all new employees —full-time and part-time, including adjunct faculty—to get a COVID-19 vaccine and provide proof of their vaccination upon commencement of employment.    New employees requesting a religious or documented medical exemption from the vaccine must complete and submit a Duquesne University exemption request form for review and approval.
