The Department of Psychology at the University of Southern Indiana invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor of Psychology position to begin in August 2022. Responsibilities will include teaching four classes per semester (2-3 preps), maintaining an active research program, and providing service to the Psychology Department, College of Liberal Arts, and the University of Southern Indiana. The area of specialization is open, although primary consideration will be given to candidates with the ability to teach Research Methods and Statistics, Sensation and Perception, Human Development, and/or Child and Adolescent Psychopathology. A Ph.D. in Psychology is required. ABD considered at the rank of instructor if doctoral degree is not conferred by hire date in August 2022.

The Psychology Department has seen a tremendous amount of growth over the last ten years. With nearly 400 majors and 200 minors, our enrollment places psychology as the largest major within the College of Liberal Arts and consistently the largest or second largest major campus wide. The university enrolls over 9,000 dual credit, undergraduate, and graduate students in 80 majors and is located on a beautiful 1,400-acre campus in Evansville, Indiana. The University is a Carnegie Foundation Community Engaged University and offers continuing education and special programs to more than 15,000 participants annually through Outreach and Engagement.
