Job Description

Reporting to the Associate Director of Annual Giving, the Data Analyst will be responsible for translating business needs of internal Arizona PBS membership and related stakeholders and support their operational, tactical and strategic reporting needs. The person in this role will help manage the existing member, donor, marketing, digital, and stakeholder data. They will provide key insight and reporting to guide strategy, expand data resources to include new entities, and use data to advance Arizona PBS strategic goals, primarily in revenue generation and cost savings. Focus is to use Business Intelligence (BI) tools, including Salesforce, Power BI, Marketing Cloud, Workday and SQL to create reports and segmentations. Goal is to evolve the data platform with user-friendly tools, solutions and reports so that relevant information can be efficiently gathered and easily interpreted by revenue and other teams. Adheres to PBS and CPB rules and regulations, as well as the policies and procedures of the department, the university and the Arizona Board of Regents.

Essential Duties

  • Responsible for data reporting, visualization, and insights that maximize growth and engagement with Arizona PBS.
  • Understanding how data is and can be used to drive marketing, sales and/or fundraising decisions, support cross-station initiatives that increase audience, drive revenue, and deepen member and viewer connections to Arizona PBS.
  • Manage data environment and ensure data reliability, integrity and quality in support of a wide range of business initiatives: increased membership, increased revenue, strategic targeting of digital marketing and engagement channels, and member satisfaction surveys. 
  • With a focus on driving strategic initiatives, collaborate with Sales, Development, Marketing, Digital and Promotions to understand their goals, programs, and challenges and help them identify strategies to bring about measurable results.
  • Receive report requests, evaluate requirements, and recommend existing or new solutions. Develop and update reports/data products to support departments and users at all levels.
  • Design, develop and update queries and stored procedures for published reports and ad hoc reporting requests.
  • Internally and externally identify data insights, value metrics, competitive benchmarking and ability to turn data into actionable insights enabling more effective strategic decision-making.
  • Develop phased-implementation approach for incorporating new sources into database. 
  • Understand and develop subject matter expertise in the suite of systems Arizona PBS operates, focusing on the interactions between systems.
  • Advocate for the creation of smart solutions that are scalable and extensible, balancing short-term goals with long-term stability and growth.
  • Assist with creating and delivering end-user training and documentation.
  • Manage multiple competing priorities through effective organization and communications.
  • Designs and conducts on-going reviews and evaluations of email performance effectiveness and recommends optimization and segmentation strategies.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Education, or related field AND two (2) years previous software support experience; OR, Any combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in creating and maintaining reports in a Salesforce environment
  • Experience in creating and maintaining reports in a Tableau environment
  • Experience designing, developing and updating queries and procedures for published reports and ad hoc reporting requests
  • Experience with digital marketing and communication systems, or other related systems.
  • Experience working in public media
  • Experience in using organizational and communications skills.
  • Experience in using analytical, interpersonal, and project management skills
  • Experience in working independently and in teams
  • Experience in applying a high level of attention to detail

 

Working Environment

Our office is located at 555 North Central Ave., Phoenix.

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse
  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts
  • Communicate to perform essential functions
  • Use standard office equipment including, but not limited to computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals
