UHD is currently hiring a full-time lecturer in Applied Administration for a new online, competency-based concentration in Applied Public Administration and Leadership (APAL) in the BAAS-Applied Administration program.  The successful candidate will have the rare opportunity to build a program from the ground up in a university that is known for its creativity, diversity, and commitment to student success and faculty development. ***Need to reside in Texas or be willing to relocate to Texas.***

Primary Duties

• Teaches online, competency-based courses within the program  
• Provides subject area content support for the competency-based degree program
• Assesses student work for all courses within the competency-based degree program
• Facilitates all courses for the competency-based degree program with a maximum load of 3 courses per each 8-week Part of Term (POT)
• Collaborates with the competency-based degree program Success Coach
• Performs record keeping procedures to keep track of student success within the competency-based degree program
• Provides feedback and make recommendations on the effectiveness of the competency-based curriculum
• Collaborates with other faculty and industry to design and/or revise cutting-edge, competency-based online courses within the private and public sectors including communications, strategic planning, organizational leadership, human resources, budgeting, contracts, negotiation, and project administration
• Evaluates courses and identifies strategies for increasing student learning and course effectiveness 

 Secondary Duties 

• Serves on committees as assigned

• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education: 

• Minimum of a MBA or Master's degree in Organizational Leadership, Public Administration, or closely-related field

Experience:

• Minimum of three (3) years teaching online in higher education
• Experience in and/or knowledge of competency-based education
• Knowledge of and/or experience in both public and private sectors
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications         

• Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership, Public Administration or closely-related field
• Knowledge of and/or experience in both the public and private sectors in 4 or more discipline areas such as ethics, human resources, organizational/administrative communication, organizational change, project administration, budgeting/accounting/finance, negotiation, administrative/organizational leadership, decision making, strategic planning, data analysis and evaluation, and grant development and administration
• Knowledge of and/or experience in program assessment activities
• Knowledge of and/or experience in instructional design
• Highly organized and ability to meet deadlines
