The Sociology Department at the University of Southern Indiana invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Sociology position beginning Fall 2022. Qualified candidates must have a doctoral degree in Sociology or a similar related field. Applicants with ABD status will be considered for the rank of Instructor until degree is completed.  We seek candidates to contribute to one or both of these areas: sociology of the environment, sociology of health and medicine. Research interests might include social inequities of environmental change, social determinants of health, and organizational aspects of medicine. The position is housed in sociology, but the successful candidate might also contribute to interdisciplinary programs in environmental science and the health sciences. Candidates should be committed to undergraduate teaching and have a clear research agenda.
