Special Education - FT Tenure-Track Faculty Position

Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 8,300 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The University is located in the borough of Kutztown in a charming rural setting, and is within 20 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The Department of Special Education at Kutztown University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level for Fall 2022. In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities; continuing scholarly growth; and service. Requirements for the position: earned doctoral degree in Special Education or related discipline by start of fall semester classes (ABD will be considered with evidence of completion by the start of fall semester classes); at least three years of special education teaching experience in a K-12 setting; and evidence of knowledge and skill in working effectively with children with exceptionalities.  

Experience in supervision of pre-service teachers and college-level teaching experience or equivalent are preferred. Candidates with expertise in culturally responsive/sustaining approaches and experience with culturally and linguistically diverse communities are especially encouraged to apply.  

Responsibilities include: Teaching undergraduate courses in special education and supervision of student teachers during the school day. Successful interview and demonstration lesson required.
