The Department of Mathematics at the University of Massachusetts Boston invites applications for a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor beginning September 1st 2022. Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely related field.  The research area of interest is open to all fields of applied mathematics which includes current areas present in the department/college to increase synergy and collaboration.

 

The successful candidate will have a robust research program and strong potential to secure extramural funding. In addition, the candidate will play an important role in the coordination, assessment and restructuring of the department’s applied mathematics offerings and of our undergraduate mathematics core, with emphasis on calculus and linear algebra.  All candidates must exhibit a clear commitment to advancing the university's teaching mission through their participation in on-going student success initiatives in the department’s lower division.  The successful candidate will also have the capacity to contribute to broad departmental and college service, including the development of a graduate program.  A teaching load reduction to root a research program will be provided.
