Position Summary:

The Department of Computer Science at the University of Denver (DU) is building an academically and culturally diverse faculty and staff who teach and work in a supportive environment surrounded by people with a strong commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).  Our institutional DEI action plan can be found here.

We invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in all areas of Computer Science with particular interest in the following areas: artificial intelligence (including AI theory), machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, natural language processing, and search. We are especially interested in applicants that can also build research partnerships with existing faculty who have strengths in algorithms, biomedical applications, computational geometry, computer science education, embedded systems and field robotics, games, human-computer interaction, human-robot interaction, privacy, programming languages, security, and software engineering.

We seek exceptional teacher-scholars committed to developing or enhancing a robust research portfolio; delivering innovative, hands-on learning experiences; and authentically supporting our DEI mission. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to their discipline through scholarly and creative activities that fall within Boyer’s four types of scholarship: discovery, application, integration, teaching and learning.

We are especially interested in faculty members who can also build research partnerships with existing faculty within the Daniel Felix Ritchie School of Engineering and Computer Science (RSECS), as well as across campus (e.g., psychology, business, education, and law).

Salary Grade Number:
The salary grade for the position is UC.

Salary Range:
The 9-month salary range for this position is $100,000-$109,000. 

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
