We invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in all areas of Computer Science with particular interest in the following areas: artificial intelligence (including AI theory), machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, natural language processing, and search. We are especially interested in applicants that can also build research partnerships with existing faculty who have strengths in algorithms, biomedical applications, computational geometry, computer science education, embedded systems and field robotics, games, human-computer interaction, human-robot interaction, privacy, programming languages, security, and software engineering.

We seek exceptional teacher-scholars committed to developing or enhancing a robust research portfolio; delivering innovative, hands-on learning experiences; and authentically supporting our DEI mission. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to their discipline through scholarly and creative activities that fall within Boyer’s four types of scholarship: discovery, application, integration, teaching and learning.

We are especially interested in faculty members who can also build research partnerships with existing faculty within the Daniel Felix Ritchie School of Engineering and Computer Science (RSECS), as well as across campus (e.g., psychology, business, education, and law).

Who We Are:

DU's vision is to be “A great private university dedicated to the public good.” As such, DU values DEI, recognizing that its success is dependent on how well it engages and includes the rich diversity of its constituents. DU is the oldest and largest private, independent university in the Rocky Mountain Region, welcoming approximately 5,700 undergraduate and 8,000 graduate and professional students to campus either in-person or virtually each year. Our undergraduate students complete a rigorous, comprehensive core curriculum in addition to a deep, hands-on immersion in their technical curricula. DU is a research university with high research activity and an exceptional commitment to its undergraduate students. Recently, the Ritchie School of Engineering and Computer Science moved into a new $63M building housing state-of-the-art research and instructional laboratories, classrooms, offices and innovation spaces. All of our in-person academic programs are housed there.
