Position Summary
Slippery Rock University invites applications for a Manager of Student Accounts. The Manager is responsible for the following duties:

*Financial counseling for students to include review and selection of payment plans, review of financial instruments to provide gap funding, assistance creating budgets; as well as, decision making regarding hardship and emergency student situations.
*Accounting responsibilities to include balance sheet reconciliations, oversight of revenue, management of tuition charts on the SRU website. -
*Development of new/improved processes/procedures based on the enhancement of internal controls surrounding personal identifiable information( PII ) and student accounts technology.
*Process review/re-engineer to ensure best in class performance of the SA area with a focus on exceptional customer service across all levels of the university.
5*Daily responsibility of the Perkins program to include working with the Director of SA on government assignments.
*Provide supervision, in the absence of the Director of Student Accounts.
*Maintain and ensure compliance with all applicable collection policies, regulations, procedures, and applicable statutory laws.
8*Working closely with the Director of Student Accounts in developing, interpreting and implementing policies to provide efficient and effective delivery of financial aid(refunds) and ensuring compliance with all federal financial aid regulations.
*Monitor receivables aging against collections activity and provide regular updates and reports.
*Set up of refund schedules & jobs to include coordination of dates with the Financial Aid team.
*Monthly Invoice activities to include GoArmy, other military TA, this includes management of all tuition rate data to external platforms such as DOD .
*Setup of new detail codes within Banner 9 and test the functionality of the codes for accuracy.
*Customer service (phone, emails, walk ins) and collaboration to both internal and external customers to include other SRU departments/division to enhance student success.
*Work with other operational and accounting team members on balance sheet recons to include unapplied payments or similar issues. Analyze report data and submit corrective recommendations when collection strategies are not performing to expectation.
*Create and distribute reports that demonstrate the success of our collection strategies.
*Ability to run ad hoc reports out of a number of business applications.
*Maintain / update billing rules.
*Manages the University reporting and customer service requirement for the Hope Scholarship and Lifelong Learning Credit components for the Taxpayer Relief Act of 1997 (TRA97) (Form 1098-T) and Form 1042 for international tax requirements, to include TIN year round outreach.
*Support 1098-T testing & reporting, to troubleshooting issues & coordinating Banner updates.
*Manage / Coordinate Accounting Services and Student Accounts website and portal updates.
*Manage miscellaneous contract billings and the application of monies when received.
*Manage payment plans in Touchnet to include posting of PP dates on website & troubleshooting returned ACH’s.
*Create and Manage electronic and/or digital forms for Student Accounts website and portal.
*Create documentation around Banner processes for billing, collections, cash receipts and related Touchnet modules. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Three years experience with Accounts Receivable, Revenue, Customer Collections and General ledger accounting.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills that can be demonstrated
Exceptional customer service skills
Ability to collaborate across multi-functional teams
Strong analytical ability
Strong communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
