Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Student Development Services, the Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of designated, campus-based programs, including: providing and expanding student activites; planning and coordinating programs; enhancing the growth and development of students by providing opportunities for students to engage with the campus and the community; and performing other administrative tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Interacts with students, faculty and staff to develop activities and programs for students
• Assists with activity planning, design, development, and assessment of activities and
programs
• Assists in executing and/or managing special events/projects for the department
• Creates and maintains updates on web page for student activities and events
• Assists the Director in the preparation of a budget and administers that budget
• Serves on committees as directed and attends appropriate professional meetings,
conferences, and/or workshops
• Assists with planning and oversight of new student orientations
• Maintains accurate records of all student activities and events
• Attends club meetings to provide guidance as needed
• Coordinates compliance with District travel regulations for clubs and organizations
• Represents the Director in the administration of student activities by cooperating and coordinating with other administrators and staff when appropriate
• Assists with the creation, assessment and compilation of student learning outcomes for major programs and activities
• Provides recommendations and communicates to appropriate leaders, teams and committees
• Supervises student clubs and student extra-curricular activities
• Monitors and disseminates information to campus clubs and club advisers
• Works variable schedules if needed, including evenings and weekends
• Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and follows a work schedule to
keep up with the demands of the worksite
• Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College ( TCC )
• Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation, and creativity and service to the College
• Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of the College

Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures

• Bachelor’s degree
• Two (2) years of experience planning, implementing and publicizing a variety of programs for a diverse student population

Desired Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures

• Experience developing educational promotional materials
• Master’s degree

Knowledge, Skills and Ability

• Experience with computerized systems
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software
• Knowledge of various types of diverse student issues and how they affect a student’s participation in campus activities
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
