Position Function:

Faculty member in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering conducting education, research, and service programs.

Area of particular focus in this search is power systems.

Salary Grade : UC

Department Profile:

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Mississippi State University consists of 27 faculty members (including 6 endowed professors), 7 professional staff, and over 700 undergraduate and graduate students with approximately 100 being at the Ph.D. level. With research expenditure of the department more than $13M (2020-201), the department houses the largest High Voltage Laboratory among North American Universities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Research: performs and publishes research in the areas of interest and advances state of the art; obtains research grants/contracts with federal government and private industry; keeps other faculty members and students informed of advances in the areas of interest.

Teaching: teaches courses in the areas of interest at the undergraduate and graduate level; advises undergraduate students; guides graduate students in thesis and dissertations in the areas of interest.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates for the position are expected to hold a Ph.D. in electrical engineering or computer engineering or closely related field (ABDs may be considered). Rank will be at the Assistant Professor level.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to individuals with a record of teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels and research experience, a substantial record of peer-reviewed publications, and demonstrated ability to secure external funding.
