Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow (several posts) in the Faculty of Dentistry (Ref.: 508896), to commence as soon as possible for one to two years.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in materials science, nanomaterials, additive manufacturing, computer science, information technology, artificial intelligence, smart manufacturing, sensors, non-ionizing tomography (e.g. optical coherence tomography and muon tomography) or a related field from an institution which meets the criteria as set out in the guidelines of the Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC) at https://www.itf.gov.hk/filemanager/publication/en/upload/1234/RTH-SPC%20Guide_en_Mar%202021.pdf . They should be able to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team with materials scientists and dentists; be keen on new technologies and medical devices; and possess good analytical, problem solving and communication skills with strong learning initiatives. Experience in scientific publications and competitive grants application is desirable.
The appointees will be responsible for experiment design, data analysis, laboratory or computational work, as well as preparation of manuscripts. They will take an independent role in building up the technology and devices in pursuit of advancement in dental research; and perform research administrative duties as required.
