The Kelley School of Business (“KSB”), continuing its long-standing dedication to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, seeks to fill a newly created position of Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (“DEIB”). This position elevates the KSB’s commitment to DEIB as we continue to provide the highest quality education for business leaders in the 21st century.

The Associate Dean will strategically and innovatively focus on systemic, structural change to advance DEIB at the KSB. The Associate Dean will partner with existing efforts in the school’s degree programs (e.g., Kelley Office of Diversity Initiatives, Graduate Office of Diversity and Inclusion), integrate various grass-roots projects throughout the school (e.g., National Diversity Case Competition, MBA Diversity Champions), interact with other University-based efforts (e.g., GU2IU), and dialogue with schools across Indiana University. The holder of the position will also be a representative of the KSB to external stakeholders.

The Associate Dean will report directly to the Dean of the KSB and will collaborate on efforts for equitable faculty and staff recruitment, progression, and retention. The Associate Dean will also oversee professional development for internal stakeholders on DEIB with the aim of fostering an inclusive environment for faculty, staff, and students. The Associate Dean will be a resource for faculty, hiring committee chairs, and teaching committees, as well as program-specific chairs and directors/executive directors.

The successful candidate will bring to the KSB significant leadership experience, demonstrated success in DEIB, and excellent communications capabilities. This position requires a terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D., J.D., Ed.D.) in a discipline that can operate successfully within a business school. In stating this, the KSB has a history of welcoming faculty from a wide range of disciplines, many of which come from outside of a traditional business school. The candidate is expected to have a research, teaching, and service record sufficient for a tenured appointment at the associate or full rank in the KSB. The position is designed to focus primarily on the objectives detailed above, and research and teaching expectations will reflect that focus.
