Key Responsibilities
| The Science in Motion outreach program at Juniata College is seeking Chemistry Outreach Coordinator. Responsibilities include working collaboratively with high school Chemistry teachers to lead hands-on science investigations, implementing professional development experiences for teachers, developing new laboratory experiences and lesson plans; maintaining laboratory equipment and teaching supplies, and assisting with grant reporting. This position reports directly to the Science Outreach Director. The Chemistry Outreach Coordinator is a part time 10-month position with no benefits and annual renewal based upon performance and funding.

AA/ EOE Position Qualifications
A Bachelor or advanced degree in education or a science field and at least two years of classroom Chemistry teaching or comparable experience. Experience teaching at different levels of K-12 and expertise in more than one science discipline is preferred. The ideal candidate would have excellent oral and written communication skills; an interest in working with secondary learners; a teaching certification; experience facilitating hands-on, inquiry based scientific investigations; experience with teacher training; and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. The successful candidate must have the ability to obtain child abuse clearances; a valid United States driver’s license and clean driving record. Supervision Required/Given
The Outreach Coordinator reports directly to the Outreach Director who oversees outreach programs and activities. Preferred Qualifications
