The Jonathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality (NYU/SPS) is seeking a
dynamic and engaged candidate for a position of Clinical
Assistant/Associate Professor to begin in September
2022. The nine-month Clinical Assistant/Associate
Professor position will provide service to our undergraduate and
graduate programs, with a specific research and teaching focus
on event management (operations, design
and production, tourism, economy, ecology, technologies).
Candidates can be from any industrial or disciplinary field. We
seek faculty candidates who have experience or evidence of the
potential for success in teaching a diverse population of students,
including first generation students, students from diverse
linguistic, cultural, racial and ethnic groups from around the
world.
Prior teaching experience is desirable, as are candidates who can
foster professional networks within the School of Professional
Studies, the larger NYU community, and industry
partners. Full-time faculty members are expected to
teach three courses per semester. In addition to teaching, faculty
members advise students, organize departmental activities,
participate in curriculum planning and evaluation, conduct
research, recruit and supervise adjunct faculty, and nurture
industry relationships.
Professional Experience: The successful
applicant will possess evidence of professional distinction,
industry experience, and appropriate academic credentials. Graduate
or professional degrees (B.A./B.S./MBA, JD, etc.) are expected;
doctoral studies are appreciated but not required. For candidates
who may not have formal teaching experience within a university
setting, other types of activities associated with higher education
will be considered, including teaching in a professional
environment or evidence of excellent communication and analytical
skills.
