OU College of Professional and Continuing Education (PACS) is pleased to announce our search for an Executive Director of Operations.

The Executive Director of Operations will serve as a member of the Dean's executive committee and will work collaboratively in areas of College planning and management.  This person will be highly organized and have a thorough knowledge of business, finance, and human resources principles and practices, preferably in a university setting. Candidates should have the ability to lead and manage a team with various types of expertise and develop and maintain relations with many constituencies.

We are best characterized by the populations we serve, as well as the specialized programming we offer. Primarily focusing on the higher education needs of place-bound working adults, military-connected personnel, and those seeking specialized study in selected professional areas, OU PACS offers a variety of degrees at both graduate and undergraduate levels, including several programs offered collaboratively with other OU colleges. Duties will include:

-Advise the Dean in setting budget and financial policy and procedures for the college, including providing business and financial oversight, monitoring college accounts to ensure fiscal responsibility and compliance with university, state, federal, and professional standards. Represent the college to the university central financial units and serve on pertinent college and campus committees.

-In coordination with HR staff, oversee the maintenance of consistent college policies, procedures and proper documentation regarding Human Resources system access, employee performance, time reporting and benefit usage, FMLA and disability leave, job descriptions, etc.

-Serve as the dean's deputy for administrative affairs and operations, and the systems that support those functions and services.  Develop long-range plans, strategies, and annual reports; maintain information and records; and provide expertise, analysis and interpretation of studies and data to assist the Dean in developing and establishing appropriate college policies and procedures for administrative affairs.

-In coordination with the College Facilities Manager, be responsible for the analysis, administration, and project management of college space planning and utilization and representation to the campus committee.

-Oversee the college's information technology operations, assuring acquisition of appropriate hardware and sofware and staff support.

-Oversee the college's Forum & Conference Services division, providing strategic leadership to manage and expand services both within the College and to other university units.

-Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications -

Required Education: Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Financial Management, Public Administration or a related field AND:  24-36 months experience in Business Administration, Financial Management, Public Administration or a related field.

-Strong financial, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills

-Demonstrated abilty to deconstruct complex issues and provide creative solutions

-Deep commitment to inclusion and ethical values

-Proficient navigating and maintaining databases

-Ability to speak, read and write clear, concise English

-Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience with tact, discretion

-Basic math skills

-Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.

-Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines

-Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff

-Able to produce reports and complete work within deadlines

-Strong initiative to solve problems

-Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives

-Customer service

-Must be able to supervise staff and communicate directions and expectations effectively; ability to lead and manage a team with various types of expertise and develop and maintain relations with many constituencies.

-Must have strong ability to lead project teams

Advertised Physical Requirements-

-Must be able to sit for extended periods of time doing work on a computer and via the telephone.

-Must be able to engage in repetitive motions including movements of the hands, wrists or fingers.

-Must be able to communicate, including expressing oneself or exchanging information with others.

-Must be able to see, including color, depth, and clarity.

-Must be able to hear including receiving detailed information orally or making fine discriminations in sound..

 

Departmental Preferences-

-Master's degree in Business Administration, Financial Management, Public Administration or a related field

-Minimum of 10 years related experience

-Previous experience working in higher education

-Supervision: Supervisor - Primary Role
