Job Summary:

The Nutrition Coordinator is an integral member of the UW-Madison Division of Extension and the Washington County FoodWIse program and works alongside the people of Wisconsin to improve lives and communities. Extension serves the people and communities of Wisconsin by addressing local, statewide and national issues, improving lives through research-based education, fostering partnerships and action, and facilitating positive impacts.

The Nutrition Coordinator provides leadership for the Washington County FoodWIse Program. The Nutrition Coordinator will be responsible for staff training and supervision, program planning, implementation, evaluation and reporting, and developing and managing the local program budget. The Nutrition Coordinator works closely with partner agencies to plan and implement interventions that improve healthy food access and make healthy food and physical activity choices practical and available to community members with limited income.

This position is a part of the Division of Extension Institute of Health and Well-Being and has an emphasis in the FoodWIse Program. FoodWIse is a community-based nutrition program that seeks to empower individuals with limited incomes to make healthy choices to achieve healthy lives and reduce health disparities. FoodWIse is federally funded by the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program-Education (SNAP-Ed) and Expanded Food and Nutrition Program (EFNEP) grants.

Education:

Preferred
Bachelor's Degree
In field relevant to the programmatic responsibilities of the position such as nutritional sciences, dietetics, community health education, public health, family and consumer sciences, social work.

Qualifications:

Required:
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience in the area of programming and service delivery.
- Ability to supervise and manage staff.
- Experience managing multiple tasks, timelines, and schedules while maintaining high quality work.
- Demonstrated understanding of and ability to work cooperatively with other agencies and community-based organizations
- Ability to communicate effectively using a variety of methods and technology.
- Demonstrated use of problem-solving skills to successfully address complex issues.
- Ability to effectively work with people from different cultural backgrounds, including those associated with race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, socioeconomic status, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, and other aspects of human diversity.

- Demonstrated experience developing effective partnerships or coalitions with community partners and local governments.
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional work environments.

Additional Information:

- Must be able to carry educational equipment, up to 25 lbs.
- Participate in low impact physical activity exercises, dependent on local program delivery.
