The Department of Radio, Television, Film in Hofstra University’s Lawrence Herbert School of Communication anticipates an opening beginning in Fall 2022 for a tenure track appointment to teach television studio and field production courses at the introductory and advanced levels. The position is open-rank, depending on qualifications.

The ideal candidate will be a resourceful, responsive teacher-practitioner with preferred qualifications that may include experience in contemporary sports television, and the ability to teach in the areas of sports production and studies. The preferred candidates should have a terminal degree in a related discipline, or commensurate industry experience with an earned Master’s Degree; and the ideal candidate will have prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level.

Candidates for tenure-track appointments are expected to establish a successful record of academic scholarship and/or industry-related professional output, as well as participating in service to the department, the school, and the university—including committee work, academic advising and curriculum development.

Salary range is competitive, with excellent fringe benefits.
