Overview
Direct all administration (finance, management, operations) for the Physics Department. Direct the development of budgets and short- and long-term operational strategies. Direct Serve as a lead proposal developer to principal investigators; advise on pre-requisites and accuracy of applications; interpret University, School and government guidelines, policies and procedures. Manage facilities renovation projects for the department; ensure space utilization and technical requirements for research programs are met. Plan sponsored research activity and initiatives for potential funding opportunities and suggest strategies.
Responsibilities
Required Education:
Master's Degree In related field
Required Experience:
7+ years Progressively responsible experience managing administrative and technical functions including finance and operations management or equivalent combination. Must include experience with grants management, fiscal reporting, budget administration and the development and management of staff. Knowledge of facilities management.
Preferred Experience:
5+ years Experience in an academic or research institution. Science grant development and management experience.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent analytical, organizational, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interpret a variety of information to individuals at all levels. Knowledge of advanced word processing, spreadsheet and database applications. Familiarity with computing, management, and scientific systems and software.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Microsoft Office,Word, Excel, PeachTree Scientific presentations: Powerpoint, Photoshop. Grant on line programs: NSF FastlLane, DOE e-center.Qualifications
