About the University:

California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI) opened in 2002 as the newest campus in the California State University system. About the Program:

The Economics program primarily serves the Martin V. Smith School of Business & Economics in providing required courses for the Business major, and also has a small, dedicated cadre of majors each term that are a joy to work with.

About the Position:

The Martin V. Smith School of Business & Economics is seeking to fill at least one lecturer position. There are opportunities to teach one or more classes on various subjects, depending on applicants' interests and qualifications. Responsibilities of new faculty members would include teaching undergraduate courses in Economics, leading to a Bachelor of Arts in Economics or a Bachelor of Science in Business, and participating in the department's learning assessment activities.

Minimum Degree Requirements:

Masters in Economics.

Required Qualifications:

• Applicants should demonstrate the commitment to effectively work with and engage a diverse student population and evidence of how they would successfully mentor minoritized students with special focus on Latinx, Black/African American, American Indian, and Asian/Asian American/Pacific Islander students.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience teaching university level courses in Economics.
  
  

Responsibilities:

Teaching one or more courses in economics, mostly likely introductory or intermediate microeconomic or macroeconomic theory. Holding office hours to engage and mentor students. Turning in assessment materials to the chair at the end of the semester.
