The School of Graduate & Continuing Studies at Alfred University is delighted to announce a search for two full-time tenure track position in School Psychology to begin in August of 2022, one at the Assistant Professor level, and the second at the Associate/Full Professor level. RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific duties and responsibilities will include: teaching nine credit hours per semester of graduate coursework as well as supervision of doctoral dissertation committees. Reductions in teaching load may be considered where special research, supervision, professional or administrative responsibilities exist. Faculty will be expected to engage in graduate student recruitment and advising and participate in a collegial manner in the life of the University.

REQUIREMENTS

We seek candidates with an earned doctorate (by August 2022) in School Psychology or closely related field. Successful candidates will demonstrate evidence of effective teaching and aptitude for conducting and mentoring research activities commensurate with their experience. Successful candidates will have a clearly expressed desire to contribute to the program and university’s mission for training practitioner-scientists. We are particularly interested in candidates who are interested and able to teach research methods and statistical analysis. Applicants with state license for independent practice or whom are seeking licensure are preferred. ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Alfred’s School Psychology program was one of the first in the country. For more than 50 years, Alfred has prepared professional school psychologists for practice in schools and related child and family settings. The School Psychology program features a combined specialist-level program that is fully accredited by NASP, and a doctorate (Psy.D.) program that is fully accredited by APA. The School Psychology program has a student-focused practitioner-scientist model and aims to prepare uniquely qualified health professionals who promote the learning, behavior, and mental health of children and youth.

The School Psychology program is part of Alfred University’s School of Graduate & Continuing Studies, which is comprised of three divisions: Campus Graduate Programs, External Graduate Programs and External Undergraduate Programs. The campus graduate division contains programs in School Counseling, Mental Health Counseling, School Psychology, College Student Development and Education.
