Job Description:
The Diversity Recruitment & Retention Coordinator helps to fulfill the functions of The Center of Multicultural Equity and Access, which includes activities associated with the recruitment and retention of underrepresented students. Some of these activities include, visiting high schools, mentoring students, planning/staffing retention events and staffing advising/tutoring sessions. This position will communicate with prospective/current students and parents who may not speak English as their first language. Some overnight and weekend travel is required.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University/College.





Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.



  • Experience working with at-risk and underrepresented students.

  • Familiarity with the secondary education system and current trends.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with underrepresented students.



Other Requirements:
Work safely at all times, which includes but is not limited to, participating and completing all required safety trainings, as well as performing all job tasks in accordance with Minnesota State University, Mankato policies and procedures utilizing appropriate tools, equipment and personal protective equipment.
