Dordt University is currently seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach Computer Programming I (CMSC 115) in the Computer Science program. Course dates run from January 13 - May 13. Our institution uses the Canvas learning management system, and resources are available to help with planning.
The course is an introduction to computer programming using the Python programming language. Basic notions of abstraction, elementary composition principles, the fundamental data structures, and object-oriented programming technique are introduced. Topics include variables, control structures, arrays, and input/output.
Candidates should have excellent communication skills, mature interpersonal skills and ability to work independently. A master's degree or at least 5 years of related experience is preferred for this position. A bachelor's degree and substantial experience working or teaching around this topic is required.
