The Board of Regents and Chancellor of the Texas Tech University
System (TTU System) invite nominations, inquiries and applications
in its national search for the position of President of Midwestern
State University (MSU Texas) in Wichita Falls,Texas.
The President serves as the chief executive officer of MSU Texas
and is responsible for the executive management of its
operations.The President provides overall leadership in the
planning and management of the academic, research, service, fiscal,
administrative and operational missions of MSU Texas.
MSU Texas, a member of the Texas Tech University System, will
celebrate its centennial in 2022. Established in 1922 as Wichita
Falls Junior College, MSU Texas has grown into a comprehensive
regional university with a 255-acre campus in Wichita Falls, Texas,
and a student learning center in Flower Mound. The campus community
includes nearly 6,000 students from 44 states and 54 foreign
countries ,as well as more than 1,200 faculty and staff. Campus
operations are supported by an annual operating budget of $124
million. MSU Texas is accredited by the Southern Association of
Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award baccalaureate
and graduate degrees. Students chose from 49 undergraduate, 27
graduate and several pre-professional programs offered through six
academic colleges and its graduate school. MSU Texas is the only
university in Texas to become a member of the Council of Public
Liberal Arts Colleges (COPLAC).
The next President will lead the institution’s continued
transition as a member of the TTU System and has the opportunity to
build the university’s academic, research and engagement
opportunities by leveraging this new partnership. The TTU System is
one of only nine higher education institutions in the nation to
offer programs for undergraduate, medical, law, nursing, pharmacy,
dental, and veterinary education, among other academic areas. MSU
