Job Summary:

Fairleigh Dickinson University, Department of Occupational Therapy located in Florham Park, New Jersey, seeks to hire a 12-month, tenure track or clinical faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to begin April-May 2022. The Occupational therapy Department is housed in the School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences located in the heart of the U.S. pharmaceutical industry in Morris County, New Jersey.

RESPONSIBILITIES :
Fairleigh Dickinson University ( FDU ) faculty work collaboratively and interprofessionally with colleagues, advise students, deliver instruction, participate in service, engage in scholarship, and contribute to the ACOTE accreditation process. Preference for this position will be given to candidates with clinical and teaching experience in adult physical disabilities, mental health, geriatrics, community integration, assististive technology, and neuro-rehabilitative techniques. Experience in research and supervising capstone projects and doctoral student experiences is also preferred.

Required Qualifications:

Qualified candidates are required to have an earned doctoral degree (e.g., OTD, PhD, EdD, DHSc, DSc) granted by an institution accredited by a U.S. Department of Education, a recognized regional accrediting body, and 5 to 7 years of clinical experience. Licensure or eligibility for licensure in New Jersey as an Occupational Therapist is required; NBCOT certification or eligibility for certification is required. Candidates who are able to provide evidence of teaching effectiveness and scholarship in higher education are preferred. Ideally, candidates will have experience using a learning management system (i.e., Blackboard) for teaching and advising. Previous college/university teaching experience in an accredited occupational therapy program is preferred.

Review of applications will begin immediately, and this position will remain open until filled. The finalist will be required to submit an original transcript from the institution awarding his/her terminal degree, a copy of N.J.’s OT license, and NBCOT certification.

Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
