Job Summary:

The School of Psychology and Counseling at Fairleigh Dickinson University ( FDU ) is seeking to hire a faculty member who will also serve as the Executive Director for our bi-campus COMPASS (autism-support) program. This hire can be at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level, and is open to any relevant specialty in psychology (e.g., clinical, experimental, school, clinical neuropsychologist) with a demonstrated record of experience and expertise in autism-based work.

Fairleigh Dickinson University has two New Jersey campuses, each of which offers COMPASS for ASD FDU college students. The faculty member will be supported to seek additional funding (private and public) to further grow the direct services to COMPASS students as well as trainings/workshops (internally and externally) to mental health providers, higher education personnel, parents, and others.

The School of Psychology and Counseling has two campuses in New Jersey. This position will be located on both campuses in Northern New Jersey. The Florham campus offers graduate programs in I/O Psychology and Clinical Mental Health Counseling. The Metropolitan campus offers Doctoral Programs in Clinical and School Psychology; Master’s Programs in Psychopharmacology, Forensic Psychology, General Theoretical Psychology, and School Psychology. Both campuses offer an Undergraduate Program in Psychology.

Required Qualifications:

The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. degree

The individual must have a strong record of autism-based research as demonstrated by publications, as well as a history of seeking and attaining external grant funding. The faculty member will have administrative oversight of both campuses’ COMPASS programs in addition to teaching one course per semester in their area of expertise. The individual must be committed to high-quality instruction. The individual can mentor and supervise graduate students actively engaged in COMPASS program direct services but this is not required.

Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card
