BASIC JOB SUMMARY: The overall purpose of this job is to coordinate and administer Entrance Testing and Exit Testing at Pellissippi State. Work with other departments when entrance testing and exit questions arise.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

55% Oversee and administer entrance and exit testing processes at five campuses. Check student readiness in Banner, enter scores into Banner and confirm accuracy, research errors and determine causes and solutions, report number of students tested each month. Ensure students requiring accommodations are scheduled accurately and in a timely manner. Coordinate Michigan Tests and grade test for non-native English-speaking students. Schedule rooms and staff to cover tests.

15% Work with Dual Enrollment Specialist in processing high school transcripts, immunization forms, ACT scores, and answering DE questions. Assist with verifying grants through the Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation database.

10% Process timesheets for twelve employees and one contract employee in Enrollment Services Dept. Prepare part time contracts when needed. Compile minutes for bi-weekly Enrollment Services staff meeting and distribute. Serve as a back-up for Admissions/Records processing.

5% Order supplies and submit requisitions through PelliBiz for Admissions/Records including travel requisitions for AVP, enrollment services coordinators, and managers within the department.

5% Recommend to hire, supervise, and train employee to assist with administering entrance tests.

5% Assist with compiling and editing Volunteer Bridge Cohort reports

5% Serve on college committees as required and perform other duties as needed with the Enrollment Services Department.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

· An Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution

· Three years of related experience

· Excellent computer skills

· College work experience

· Excellent written communication skills

· PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

· Banner experience’

· Understanding and knowledge of the requirements for students needing testing

· Knowledge of the community college setting and entrance and exit testing procedures

Part-time work experience is calculated at 50% credit of full-time work experience.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

NATURE OF CONTACTS:

The nature of the interaction in terms of testing responsibilities is to provide testing services, provide scores results when missing, discuss test results, and work with others to help resolve testing issues and conflicts when they arise. This employee interacts with all the site deans to arrange times for entrance testing. This employee also interacts with advising by providing up-to the moment scoring so that a student can be placed in proper courses. Also, this employee works closely with classroom schedulers around the college to ensure proper spaces for testing. She works with deans of departments and site campuses and other faculty with interpretation of scores. Also, this employee will work with TN Achieves during their summer program by providing testing services for their students.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:

The employee needs to possess strong decision-making and problem-solving skills and be able to make decisions on-the-spot without having to consult the supervisor. He or she must be able to troubleshoot when having computer issues while testing. He/she must be able to find alternate solutions on the spot and be able to solve issues during high stressful times. The following policies govern my work:

Admissions, Financial Aid, and Academic Standards policies and procedures: Understand, explain, and implement Admissions Policy 03:11:00 Section VI and VII and Academic Standards Policy 03:11:01 Section I, H.

A-100 policy as it relates to Entrance testing and placement.

Grievance procedures pertaining to students or faculty: Understanding internal College and TBR policies (grade appeals, P-080 complaints) as well as guidelines and resources for filing outside agency complaints regarding discrimination and academic complaints and being able to explain to students their options and the procedures for filing a complaint (i.e. the office or individual to whom complaints should be addressed; directing students to appropriate paperwork and policies regarding complaints).

Human Resources policies and procedures: Guiding contract employees and work study students in the completion of requirements and paperwork associated with working for the College. Writing and managing contracts and payroll time sheets for contract employees.

Pay Rate: $34,000 - $41,620/per year. Pay will be determined based on related work experience above required. To be considered in determining pay, all related work experience must be listed on the application.
