ATTENTION:

The Department of Information Technology and Supply Chain Management in the College of Business and Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater has a fixed-term, nine-month, 100% Instructional Academic Staff opening beginning August 2022. This is a full-time position with responsibilities for teaching undergraduate courses in supply chain management and service to the university and community.

Academic staff positions are provided fixed term appointments with annual renewals unless otherwise noted. Reappointment for subsequent terms is dependent upon performance, university funding and external forces.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • M.B.A. from an AACSB accredited institution or Masters degree related to the fields of teaching
  • Academic background should include courses in supply chain management, transportation management, or quantitative/operations research methods
  • Recent professional experience substantial in duration and responsibility at the time of hire in the discipline
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching with an emphasis on promoting the success of undergraduate students and serving as an active member of the university community
  • The ability to teach a variety of undergraduate courses in supply chain management is required
  • Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds
  • Candidates with a supply chain analytics background will be preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Full-Time teaching responsibilities include:
  1. Teaching undergraduate courses in the supply chain management domain such as supply chain analytics, logistics, purchasing, and operations planning.
  2. Faculty members serve as advisors/mentors to students and are encouraged to engage students in undergraduate research or other scholarly and creative activities.
  3. Service responsibilities include committee service at the departmental, college, and university levels as well as participation in community organizations as relevant to the candidate’s expertise and interest.
  4. Faculty at UW-W may be required to teach traditional, online, and/or in a hybrid format, or courses in the evenings or on weekends.
  5. Faculty may also elect to teach New Student Seminars or possibly lead outreach activities geared toward improving student success.
  6. Faculty will also develop curriculum within the supply chain program.
DEPARTMENT INFORMATION:

The Department of Information Technology and Supply Chain Management ( http://www.uww.edu/cobe/itscm ) is one of the seven departments in the College of Business and Economics ( http://www.uww.edu/cobe ). There are 20 full-time faculty and staff members supporting nearly 400 undergraduate majors and minors with emphases in business analysis, data analytics, networking and security, project management, supply chain operations management, global sourcing and logistics analytics. The College of Business and Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is the largest AACSB-accredited business school in the state of Wisconsin. The College enrolls approximately 3,500 business undergraduate students and offers 15 majors and 26 emphases. Nearly 1,100 graduate students are enrolled in a breadth of online and on-campus programs, including the Masters of Business Administration (with 12 unique emphases, including Supply Chain Management), Master of Science in Cybersecurity, Master of Science in Data Analytics, Master of Science in Environmental Health and Safety, Master of Science in Finance, Master of Science in Marketing, Master of Science in Education in School Business Management, Master of Science in Applied Biotechnology, and the Doctorate of Business Administration.
