Job Summary
The Associate Director of Student Accounts/Associate Bursar role is a department leader in the Business and Financial Services division and reports directly to the University's Bursar. This position oversees the billing and collection of over $250M annually in student tuition and fee revenue and is directly responsible for managing student accounts, campus-based loan-processing, student and non-student accounts receivable functions, and managing the integration of customer service for student financials. The role supports a team of 3 Account Specialists (collectors), 2 Accountants as well as 5-8 students and front-line staff (student and employees). This role serves as a key thought partner in student account management and accounting policies and procedures at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Minimum Qualifications - 2+ years of experience providing billing or collections, or
account related customer service-related duties
- 1+ years of experience leading, supervising, directing, or
coordinating the work of staff
Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor's or advanced degree in Business, Accounting, Public
Administration or related field by date of hire
- 2+ years of experience leading, supervising, directing, or
coordinating Bursar related functions
- 1+ years of experience leading, supervising, directing, or
coordinating projects (project management)
- Experience with an integrated or One Stop model of delivery of
student financial services
