Job Description:

Dean College Counseling Services is seeking a licensed clinician to provide counseling services, as well as develop and implement educational programs to assist students with advancing their personal, emotional, and academic growth. 

This is a full-time, 10-month, exempt, benefits eligible position (typical contract late August to early June).  The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, a solid understanding of college age development, and prevalent mental health issues which can hinder a student's academic success. This candidate will be a self-starter, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and have enthusiasm for program development as well as ability to work collaboratively in a work environment.

Position Details:

Position includes day and evening office hours (specific hours/schedule TBD), occasional summer hours for campus wide events, training and planning purposes.

Position responsibilities include:

  • Providing short-term solution focused individual counseling, group support, crisis intervention and assessment, when necessary, follow through with record keeping/case management and other duties assigned by the Director of Counseling Services.

Wellness Education:

  • Develop, coordinate, and implement wellness initiatives and prevention education programs for Counseling Services.

On-call Responsibilities:

  • Serving as part of an after-hours, counselor on-call rotation (approx.1-2 weeks per month). The on-call clinician provides phone consultation for administrators on-call, managing student mental health concerns. The role does not require in person response.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree from an accredited program in Mental Health Counseling, and/or Social Work required;
  • Current Massachusetts State Licensure (e.g., LMHC, LICSW) required;
  • Two-three years clinical experience, preferably working in a college counseling center or related work with college age students, experience working with a diverse population, including students with learning challenges required;
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office (EMR system, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint);
  • COVID-19 vaccine required.
