The Jacobs School of Music seeks candidates for a two‐year, full‐time visiting position in musicology for the academic years 2022-23 and 2023-24. The successful candidate will teach two courses during one semester (typically in the first year), and one course per semester during the remaining three semesters; conduct an active program of research during the appointment, resulting in the submission of proposals to research conferences, the submission of articles to academic journals, or other scholarly projects; attend two conferences per year; deliver a colloquium to the department each year; and participate in other departmental activities as assigned by the chair of the department. The postdoctoral resident scholar will be assigned a faculty mentor to prepare them for a career in academia.

Qualifications: A completed Ph.D. Degree in music is required at the time of appointment. Candidates must have received the Ph.D. from an institution other than Indiana University no more than five years prior to their appointment.

Salary and Rank: Visiting Assistant Professor. Salary will be $42,700 with an annual $2,000 research and travel budget, and eligibility for the health and retirement benefits available to all full-time faculty.
