Summary

VCU Human Resources seeks a dynamic, results-oriented partner to join our growing Organizational Effectiveness (OE) team. The Senior Consultant, Organizational Effectiveness will collaborate with the Director of OE, university leaders, HR Professionals and the OE stakeholder team to drive organizational effectiveness efforts and activities that strengthen workplace culture and foster an inclusive, diverse and equitable environment for all community members.

Specific Responsibilities include:

  • Support the university’s career development program by creating & building career paths for each university staff job series;

  • Participate in the refinement, implementation and administration of the university’s succession development program;

  • Serve as the project lead for the succession development program;

  • Serve as a key member of the OE team performing a variety of org effectiveness services to support the needs of each individual engagement. This includes activities such as conducting initial intakes and engagement contracting, completing benchmarking assignments, facilitating individual, small group, or large group sessions, and much more;

  • Collect data using surveys, feedback from university constituents and other methods deemed appropriate to evaluate the effectiveness of programs and processes;

  • Identify and track appropriate measurements to gauge the success of OE interventions.

Minimum qualifications for the position:
  • Bachelor's degree with extensive (5-7 years) relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in human resources, organizational effectiveness, career pathing and development, succession development, and facilitation;

  • Demonstrated knowledge of leadership models, management roles, organizational design and development and succession planning;

  • Demonstrated goal measurement, coaching and team development, problem solving/issue resolution, collaboration, and leadership abilities;

  • Experience with employee engagement tools and activities such as 360 assessments, individual and management coaching, DiSC, Korn Ferry Leadership Indicators, etc.;

  • Self-directed, outcome-oriented, and detail-oriented;

  • Ability to problem-solve and adapt when confronted with ambiguity;

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication; time management; and organizational skills;

  • Success working both independently and collaboratively;

  • Appreciation for data and evaluation processes;

  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.

Preferred qualifications for the position:
  • Related work experience in Higher Education that has included program planning, evaluation, and data reporting;

  • Demonstrated experience specifically in the building of a succession development program.
