The Opportunity

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Human Resources Department is currently recruiting for an experienced HRIS Analyst. The HRIS Analyst is a strategic part of the Human Resources Team that works as the primary HR representative aligned with University Information Technology team and the functional leads in HR. The HRIS Analyst is highly analytical, detail-oriented, innovative, and resourceful. Ideal candidates should be able to creatively find solutions to departmental challenges, have excellent communication skills, focusing on clarity and the ability to explain complex concepts to stakeholders of various backgrounds. The HRIS Analyst should have a high degree of curiosity and initiative for providing meaningful information from disparate data elements. Experience in supporting HR Information Systems and related reporting tools is strongly preferred and must utilize entrepreneurial thinking when meeting challenges and have a passion for learning.

Candidates should also be highly adaptable and possess sufficient resilience to effectively adjust to rapidly shifting prioritization. The HRIS Analyst shall insist upon exceptional, positive, and effortless customer service with colleagues within and beyond the institution.

The HRIS Analyst provides functional project management for Workday enhancements and system updates by acting as the go between University Information Technology and HR; acts as a departmental representative responsible for gathering details on related issues and system concerns with functional team, researches issues, configures changes in test environment and works with functional teams on testing solutions. The Analyst will develop an expertise in Workday and serve as a subject matter expert for Human Resources.

Responsibilities include the following:
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on HR projects in support of system related issues, changes, updates, and future enhancements. Provides expert level support for problem determination and resolution.
  • Translates the HR business needs into appropriate and optimal system configurations, and/or, work with University Information Technology to find suitable alternatives. Offers innovative solutions to working within the constraints of the environment.
  • Works collaboratively with the Human Resources Staff, Finance System Analyst, and University Information Technology teams to configure, test and implement new functionality in Workday.
  • Translates HR department needs into working system functionality.
  • Recommends process improvement strategies to Human Resources Leadership, and other HR functional units, in order to help them streamline their business processes or optimize their use of the enterprise system.
  • Maintains an extensive understanding of HRIS functions and related connections among those systems.
  • Collaborate with university constituents and academic functions as they are trying to leverage HRIS data and functionality; including reporting, data extracts, and integrations with other specialized technology systems.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in related field and at least three years of experience working in a similar role
  • Strong working knowledge of enterprise HR systems and well versed in the technical aspects of these systems
  • Advanced skilled in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Personal and professional integrity, as well as confidence and credibility
  • Ability to be service-oriented and customer-focused
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Ability to provide technical advice and information to the HR staff
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Oracle Cloud HCM/Workday Cloud knowledge
  • Higher Education HR experience
  • Ability to perform a complex tasks and to prioritize multiple assignments
