The Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Smith College invites applications for two positions in Chinese Language: a non-tenure track Core Lecturer position and a non-tenure track Lecturer position, to begin July 1, 2022. We seek two innovative and experienced teachers at the college level, specializing in Chinese language pedagogy, Chinese second language acquisition, or applied linguistics.
The lecturers will teach five courses in Chinese language per year. Candidates must have native or near-native fluency in Chinese and English and an M.A., Ph.D or ABD status. Successful candidates should also be committed to working with diverse students across campus, participating in the development of the Chinese language curriculum, and actively engaging with current research on teaching Chinese as a second language. Both positions are full time with full benefits.
