The Communication Sciences & Disorders (CSD) online Master's program, Speech@Emerson, combines online and in-person learning for aspiring speech-language pathologists across the US. Our program prepares students to become Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) capable of working in any setting, with a variety of disorders, across the lifespan.

This position is primarily remote, though you will be required to come to campus on rare occasions for meetings and special events, such as our Immersion Program.

CSD is seeking an Associate Director, Program Administration who will oversee and manage administrative day-to-day functions for our large-scale remote program, Speech@Emerson that includes, finance and budget management, procurement, vendor and worker contracts, personnel management and development, system development, and program and clinical operations. The Associate Director will manage a team and will be responsible for advancing and documenting operational processes and procedures, developing systematic and technical solutions, and streamlining communication mechanism for students and program workers. The Associate Director will work cross-functionally with central offices and CSD administration to analyze and improve organizational processes, and will help inform quality, productivity and efficiency across the program and department.

Seeking a positive, hard-working person to oversee and manage day-to-day functions. This includes finance and budget management, contracts, and daily operations of personnel development and system management. You will manage a team and will be responsible for advancing and documenting operational processes and procedures, develop systematic and technical solutions, and streamline communications.

You will work cross-functionally with central offices and the team to analyze and improve organizational processes and will help increase quality, productivity and efficiency across the program and department.

The Communication Sciences & Disorders (CSD) online Master's program, Speech@Emerson, combines online and in-person learning for aspiring speech-language pathologists across the US. Our program prepares students to become Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) capable of working in any setting, with a variety of disorders, across the lifespan.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Management and leadership:
  • Responsible for effective staff management including hiring, onboarding, training and development, and performance evaluation.
  • Oversee and monitor the daily administration of a large-scale program and problem solve issues with an end-to-end resolve approach.
  • Collaborate with university-wide leadership to continuously improve and integrate processes, policies and procedures.


Administration and operations:
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures for accreditation, training, program compliance, attaining business objectives and sustainability.
  • Oversee and develop platforms that will inform and support student and program workers.
  • Oversee and inform the advancement of systems, documentation and the centralization of information.
  • Develop systematic mechanisms for communicating with students and program workers.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures.
  • Plan strategies for streamlining and improving upon operations.
  • Manage ongoing relationships with external vendors and consultants.
  • Ensure administrative compliance with College wide policies and procedures and applicable legal rules and regulations.
  • Write and design program literature.
  • Present information and results to management and stakeholders.
  • Draft reports.


Finance & Budget:
  • Oversee a large-scale budget, maintain accurate records of spend and revenue to track fund balances.
  • Manage financial operations, data analysis, budgeting and reporting while identifying opportunities for operational integration and improvement.
  • Manage and analyze budgets and prepares reports and projections.
  • Develop financial models and projections.


Your Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required in a related field and 5-7 years of experience in a business or administrative work settings.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of managerial experience.
  • Experience managing a largescale budget and complex financial models.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and executing standard operational procedures and policies.
  • Ability to prepare, manage and maintain budgets and financial reports and perform quarterly reconciliations
  • Advanced excel skills manipulating spreadsheets (pivot tables, V look-ups, charts).
  • Able to work occasional nights, weekends, and during program conventions.

You'll be preferred if you have:
  • Experience working with multiple databases and platforms.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Banner, Workday and Cognos.
  • Strong budgetary and accounting background: Ability to perform financial calculations, prepare/maintain financial reports, analysis, and summaries for a large program.
  • Fluent with webinar technology such as Zoom.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with demonstrated ability and comfort to handle multiple tasks and projects.
  • Able to present effectively to small and large groups and to work productively with a wide range of constituents in a diverse community.
  • Experience managing heavy volume in a deadline-driven environment, and the ability to manage multiple timelines.
  • Able to handle sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality.
  • Able to exercise sound judgment, work independently and employ decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including editing and proofreading.

Hiring Range: $75,100.00 - $78,700.00
