Knox College invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor / Instructor of Music beginning September 1, 2022. This position is a two-year visiting position that extends through the 2023-24 academic year.
The successful candidate will have a strong interest and experience in designing innovative undergraduate courses on music and global culture within a vibrant liberal arts environment. Disciplinary specialization is open, and the candidate will have the opportunity to work with students from across the college’s academic areas. The normal teaching load is two courses per ten-week trimester, and teaching responsibilities may include courses on ethnomusicology, popular music, musical skills workshops (such as rhythm, transcription, or other areas determined by the candidate’s expertise and interests), and music fundamentals.

Visiting faculty members at Knox are included in the professional and intellectual life of the College. The visiting faculty member will have a modest annual conference travel budget and access to research resources. Pay is commensurate with entry-level faculty positions at the College.
Knox College provides a competitive salary and a strong benefit package including health, dental, vision and life insurance, and access to a retirement plan; a tuition remission benefit is available after a two-year waiting period.
