Communication Sciences and Disorders - Part-Time Lecturer Pool
POSITION:
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool.
We welcome applications from individuals who are experienced and student centered to teach undergraduate courses in communicative disorders as needed in the following subject areas:
- Phonetics
- Introduction to communicative disorders
- Audiology and audiometry
- Sign language
- Neurology and neurogenic communicative disorders
- Clinical Supervision
This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary.
APPOINTMENTS FROM THE PART-TIME POOL ARE TEMPORARY AND OFTEN MADE JUST PRIOR TO THE START OF THE ACADEMIC TERM. APPLICANTS MAY BE OFFERED EMPLOYMENT ON VERY SHORT NOTICE.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - A Masters or PhD (i.e. Masters or AuD, PhD, EdD) degree in
Communicative Disorders or related field or equivalent
experience.
- Candidates should have prior teaching experience at the
university level.
- Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and
work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse student
population, including first-generation college students.
- Licensed Speech and Language Pathologist or Audiologist with
ASHA-CCC and State of California Licensure.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Preference will be given to those with record of teaching
experience teaching experience in working with diverse populations
and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive learning
environment.
- Preference will be given to those with relevant performance and
professional experience.

COMPENSATION:
All part-time faculty appointments are made as Lecturers, under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the California Faculty Association. Initial appointments are for one semester only. Typical starting salaries for part-time faculty range from $5,075 to approximately $6,055 per semester for a three-unit class.

The mission of the department is to provide students with an understanding of communication sciences and disorders within a diverse society. In the on-campus Speech and Hearing Clinic and off-campus medical, community and educational training sites, we strive to provide graduates of our program with the essential knowledge and skills to become professional practitioners in speech-language pathology who are capable of serving in clinics, schools, community centers, hospitals, and private practices. We strive to prepare our graduates to become advocates for people with communication disorders.
