ResponsibilitiesTift College of Education is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor of Health and Physical Education with experience and credentials in K-12 health and physical education. Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Teacher Education for Macon and the Regional Academic Centers, the successful candidate will be housed on the University's Macon Campus. The position is a 9-month tenure-track appointment, with the opportunity for summer employment. The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The successful candidate will provide leadership for an undergraduate health and physical education teacher education program and an athletic coaching graduate certificate program and teach in-person and online courses in these programs and other teacher education programs. The successful candidate will also maintain a defined line of research leading to publications in refereed journals, national and international presentations, and external grant funding. Additionally, the successful candidate will participate in programmatic development and professional development activities linked to instructional quality and student success, advise and mentor students, provide service to professional and University communities, and contribute to an environment of professionalism and collaboration within the teacher education programs and the College.
