Adjunct Instructor - Dental Hygiene

Goodwin University Dental Hygiene Program is looking for adjunct dental hygiene clinical instructors to assist dental hygiene students during clinical rotations on campus and in the community setting. Under the supervision of the Program Director and working directly with the clinic coordinators, clinical dental hygiene instructors will be responsible for instruction in areas of dental hygiene care process including evaluation of clinical competencies and procedures. On occasion, an instructor will need to give direct patient care, such as removing a difficult area of calculus, as part of a teaching-learning situation.

Qualifications:

• Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution and three years clinical dental hygiene practice OR currently enrolled in a baccalaureate degree program at an accredited institution and three years clinical dental hygiene.
• Teaching experience preferred.
• Licensed to practice dental hygiene in the State of Connecticut.
• Certification to provide local anesthesia.
• Current CPR for Healthcare Provider w/ AED certification
• Knowledgeable of current technologies in clinic and appropriate to the area of instruction.
• Possess knowledge of, and proficiency in, current concepts of dental hygiene, dental hygiene education, clinical instruction, general dentistry, and clinical practice.
