GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for providing academic support to Advantage Program
students needing assistance with Mathematics courses, including
developmental coursework, Quantitative Reasoning, Statistics,
College Algebra, and Pre-Calculus.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Provides one-to-one Mathematics tutoring to Advantage Program
students enrolled in CCCC courses.
Assists students in using other academic support services (e.g.
BrainFuse, campus MathLab, additional Advantage and CCCC tutoring
Tracks attendance for tutoring sessions and works with Program
staff to proactively encourage use of tutoring services.
Consults with Advantage staff regarding progress and academic
support needs of students.
Bachelor's degree in mathematics or related discipline.
Experience teaching or tutoring at the secondary or
Knowledge of effective teaching and/or tutoring
Strong interpersonal skills.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working with community college students, including
students enrolled in developmental education classes, academically
underprepared students, non-traditional students, and/or ESOL
Prior work experience with TRiO programs.
Familiarity with college-level Chemistry and/or Physics.
Master's degree in teaching, mathematics education, or related

COMPENSATION : $30.03/hr. for up to 9 hours per week through
December 21, 2021. Spring Semester reappointment period, January 24
