Duties: Teach assigned courses preparing
students for careers in psychology, counseling, social work, and
human development. Articulate and model current best practices in
teaching, especially related to first generation University
students. Advise and mentor students in psychology majors. Develop
and review curriculum for courses in psychology, and related areas,
including potential online curricula. Develop and implement
assessment tools for psychology majors. Keep abreast of current
developments in the field of psychology and related areas. Work
collegially with faculty, staff, and students. Understand and
promote the mission, values, and core themes of Warner Pacific
University. Exhibit excellent communication skills in all
interactions with faculty, staff, and students. Contribute to the
support and implementation of the University Strategic Plan.
Continue professional growth, including participation in the
professional development opportunities provided by the institution.

Requirements: a Master’s degree or the
equivalent in Psychology, Human Development, or a related field,
combined with at least 1 year of experience as a Primary Classroom
Instructor at a university level (experience gained during post
graduate studies is acceptable), including the following:
- 1 year of experience working with diverse populations
- 1 year of experience teaching at a university level in the areas of psychology and/or human development
- A record of research or publication in a specialty area related
to psychology and/or human development, as evidenced by one or more
of the following:
- Completed graduate thesis/dissertation in specialty subject area related to psychology and/or human development (listed on CV), and/or
- Publication of articles/essays in a specialty area related to psychology and/or human development in an academic journal (listed on CV), and/or
- Presentation/Paper delivered at a professional conference in a specialty area related to psychology and/or human development (listed on CV)
Must pass pre-employment criminal background check.
All education, training, and experience may be gained
