JOB OVERVIEW: The Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Management (CAECM) of the College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) at the University of Cincinnati (UC) invites applications for a full-time tenured/tenure track faculty position to support the curriculum and research efforts of the department in the area of Construction Engineering and Management.  Applicants at all levels of professorship will be considered. Rank and tenure will be determined based on the candidate's credentials. Appointee will be evaluated for reappointment, promotion, and tenure based on criteria established by CAECM and CEAS.

 

CAECM supports programs in Civil Engineering (CE), Architectural Engineering (AE), and Construction Management (CM).  Bachelor’s degrees are offered in each of the three areas, non-thesis Master of Engineering degrees are offered in Civil Engineering and Architectural Engineering, and MS and PhD degrees are offered in Civil Engineering with both Civil and Architectural Engineering tracks.   

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Successful applicants will be expected to: develop and teach courses in the areas of construction engineering and construction management at the graduate and undergraduate levels; conduct funded research in areas such as but not limited to smart construction, intelligent infrastructure, sustainable construction, building information modeling, construction robotics, artificial intelligence and machine learning applications in construction, and resilient construction; engage in scholarly activities in terms of securing research funds and establishing/maintaining an ongoing publication record; and participate in academic and professional service activities supporting the mission of CAECM, CEAS, and UC, including but not limited to student mentoring, advising of student organizations, serving on departmental, college and university committees, performing community service and outreach activities, and contributing to the success of students by participating in orientation programs.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Prior to effective date of the appointment, candidates must have a PhD in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
