Position Summary: The Associate Provost reports directly to the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs and is an active participant in the administrative decision-making processes in the Office of Academic Affairs. The Associate Provost is an administrative appointment with non-tenure-track faculty status and is a member of the Academic Council. The Associate Provost supports the Provost in a subsidiary role by working with Academic units as assigned on strategic planning, program oversight, student success, compliance with accrediting bodies, and policymaking.

Essential Functions:  

    Represents the Provost in ensuring the following Program institutional outcomes:
      The missional, enrollment, and economic viability optimization and thriving of the current DMin program and the future online DMin program. Regularly assessing the fiscal and enrollment impact of the DMin degree and delivery systems (on-line, extension sites, global deployments). The missional, enrollment, and economic viability optimization of the Asbury Institutes, including institution-wide integration. The continued and integrated progress across the entire institution of all 2023 global-related initiatives. The continued progress of the Church Planting initiative. The missional, enrollment, and economic viability optimization of the Hispanic initiatives.  The missional, enrollment, and economic viability optimization of the Van Tatenhove Center for Counseling.
    Collaborate with other divisions of the Seminary to analyze and develop recommendations in response to evolving issues within the programs above Assists the Provost in the Development and implementation of a Student Success Center.   Represents the Provost in the supervision of the Dean of Library, Information and Technology Services Oversight of student complaints and issues, in collaboration with the Manager of Academic Affairs Represents the Provost institution-wide in extending the seminary's presence and influence with pastors and laity by:
    Continually assessing the current and emerging global needs of the Church Designing and recommending programs that address the technical, cultural, and adaptive challenges that clergy and laity face Creating networks of alumni/ae and friends to assist peer learning and encouragement Recommending multiple delivery systems for sharing the Seminary’s resources (e.g., seminary courses, webinars, social networking, institutes, conferences, etc., both on campus and regionally).

 Qualifications:     

    An earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution Two to five years of prior academic leadership experience Demonstrated excellence in working with faculty in developing and measuring student learning outcomes Demonstrated excellence in communication, collaboration, and team management Experience in college or university instruction at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels Evidence of Christian commitment, active church involvement, and a strong allegiance to the seminary’s mission and vision
